DESCHAMPS is a family owned business which was established in 1860.
1860
Mr Alfred DESCHAMPS founded the company in Voeuil & Giget
in the suburb of Angoulême city, in the South West of France and specialized
in the manufacturing of woollen felts for paper industry.
1910
The company moved to larger premises located in Nersac
for increasing their production capacity.
1960
DESCHAMPS started to increase production for the
export market
1970
DESCHAMPS started manufacturing polyester conveyor
belts for various industries.
1980
DESCHAMPS manufactures and supplies conveyor and
filtration belts for water supply, food processing and paper industries, as
well as for the bakery moulder industries.
1994
Mr Georges-Paul DESCHAMPS, the current President
of DESCHAMPS, invented a three-dimensional polyester mat which was named
Mobi-Mat ® Mobility
Matting. Patented in more than 50 countries, the unique construction
of the Mobi-Mat ® Mobility Matting enables it to be used by numerous civilian
and military organisations as efficient and rapidly deployed roll-out
temporary roadways, helipads and shelter flooring.
1995
DESCHAMPS moved to larger premises, located in La
Couronne, in the suburb of Angoulême city, in the South West of France.
2001
started DESCHAMPS
MAT SYSTEMS INC in New York, USA.
2003
Mobi-Mat ® Helipad was selected by the US Marine
Corps and Us Army as the best Helipad to support
Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
2004
DESCHAMPS celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Mobi-Mat ® Mobility
Matting invention. This same year, Mobi-Mat ® Beach-Access Mats
were extensively used in Indonesia to help rescuing and bringing humanitarian
support to Tsunami victims.
2005
DESCHAMPS MAT SYSTEMS INC moved to Little Falls,
New Jersey where it manufactures Mobi-Mat ® Mobility Mattings for the North
American market.
At present,
the combined staff of DESCHAMPS and DESCHAMPS MAT SYTEMS INC
as well as their associated Agents and Distributors provide a wide range of
high quality Mobility Mattings, Decking, Helipads, temporary Roadways and Bridging
systems and training to numerous civilian and government customers world-wide.
