Since 1991, there have been over 230 cases of aircraft damage and/or injury due to unsuccessful take-offs or landing in a dust environment, according to the US Army Warfighting Center, Ft Rucker, Alabama.

Brown-out accidents are attributable to the use of MEDEVAC landing areas, Landing Zones (LZ), Forward Arming and Refueling points (FARPs).

The relatively inexpensive Mobi-Mat light weight helipad can save millions of dollars in potential damage to the blades and engines caused by Dust and Foreign Object Debris (FOD), while increasing the safety of the crew and cargo they carry.
